Vajrayogini

The practices of Buddha Heruka and Buddha Vajrayogini are the Highest Yoga Tantra practices of Kadampa Buddhism.

The practice of Buddha Heruka is explained in Geshe Kelsang’s book, Essence of Vajrayana. and the practice of Buddha Vajrayogini is explained in the book Guide to Dakini Land.

Before engaging in either of these practices it is necessary to receive an empowerment and instructions from a qualified Spiritual Guide. These empowerments are given every other year at International Kadampa Festivals, and occasionally at other events.

To support practitioners in their practice of Highest Yoga Tantra, Kadampa Meditation Center Boston offers a special group puja once a month that is followed by Q&A time with Gen Khedrub.

In addition, there are special courses and guided retreats on the practices of Heruka and Vajrayogini throughout the year.

All pujas (chanted prayers) are currently offered both in person and online.

Please visit the monthly calendar for schedule details.

Note: On Saturday, February 12 there will be a practice of Feast of Great Bliss, the self-initiation sadhana of Vajrayogini, for those who have completed a close retreat. However, everyone who has received a HYT empowerment is welcome to join in the first part, which is essentially a practice of the Quick Path sadhana. Gen Khedrub will share a few words of what to do when we start at 2pm.
