The Power of Patience: Saturdays from 10:00-11:15 a.m. in Portland with Clare Morin

Patient acceptance is an inner strength that enables us to accept and grow from whatever life throws at us. Without cultivating patient acceptance we remain vulnerable to anxiety and frustration, and it is difficult for us to maintain peaceful relationships with others. If on the other hand we understand what true patience is and its extraordinary power and value, we will be confident to practise patience in daily life.

In this series of classes we will explore Buddhist teachings and meditations that will give you practical methods for practicing patience.

Location: Portland New Church at 302 Stevens Avenue.

April 2 – The psychology of frustration

April 9 – What is patience?

April 16 – Learning to accept

About the teacher: Clare Morin has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since the early 2000s, when she  began to study meditation at the Kadampa Meditation Center Hong Kong. She found tremendous value in learning about meditation and using these practical teachings to solve the problems of daily life. Her studies on this path have continued in-depth, and when she moved to Maine in 2009 with her Mainer husband, she was lucky to be asked to start teaching a weekly branch class in Portland.
