Spring Clean For Your Mind – Saturday, April 9 from 10am to 12:30pm
“If the things you desire do not come, it is due to karma created long ago…” Advice from Atisha’s Heart
Do you ever feel like your mind is clogged with negative karmic seeds preventing you from making headway in your meditation practice? Do you really want to meditate every day, but something always gets in the way? Your mind may be in need of some deep spiritual cleansing. Buddha taught several methods to purify the negative karma we have created in the past. These are actual methods to eradicate negative karmic seeds we created in the past and prevent them from ripening in the future. This is modern Buddhist technology that actually works when we have the right motivation.
Join Joe and Susan as they walk you through methods for a Clorox deep cleaning your mind of all the muck you wish you had not done. They will review the four opponent powers we need to cultivate when practicing purification, and then review two sadhanas that can be used to accomplish this task (Vajrasattva purification practice and the 35 Confession Buddha purification practice). Come do some deep mental cleaning to jump start your spiritual progress this spring!
Includes teaching, meditation and time for Q&A.

Susan Nelson enjoys finding ways to integrate Buddha’s teachings into her various roles as attorney, mother, partner, sister, teacher, daughter, and friend. Susan started attending Kadampa Meditation Center South Carolina in 2009, the same year she passed the Bar exam. She has employed meditation techniques over the past dozen years to help de-stress and lighten the intensity of her legal career. Susan now studies on the Foundation Program at Kadampa Meditation Boston, exuding supreme calm and clarity, and we are delighted to have her teaching this event.
Joe Kovaz also began studying and practicing Dharma at Kadampa Meditation Center South Carolina in 2009. After several years of study and practice Joe began teaching meditation classes. Joe especially cherishes the opportunity to teach meditation classes to beginners and seeks ways to make his classes very practical and meaningful for participants. Joe is a lively member of the Foundation Program class at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston and brings great joy to his teachings.
