Peaceful Parenting – A Meditation Workshop Saturday, February 20 from 10am to 1pm

Peaceful Parenting – An online meditation work

Is it possible to be a relaxed and happy parent instead of feeling stressed and overwhelmed a good part of the day? It is, if we learn how. Through applying very simple meditation techniques, we can create a place of calm inside and experience a sense of peace, even when our family life seems busy or chaotic.
The course will be taught by Susan Hills Nelson a long-time Kadampa Buddhist practitioner and mother. Susan will use both her own experience and practical ways of thinking and meditating that you can use right now to help your family be healthy and positive. And she will be joined by her husband Joe Kovaz! Both Susan and Joe are regular meditation teachers for Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. Includes teachings, meditation and time for Q&A

Susan Hills Nelson enjoys finding ways to integrate dharma into her various roles as attorney, mother, partner, sister, teacher, daughter, and friend.  Susan started attending KMC South Carolina in 2009, the same year she passed the Bar exam.  She has employed meditation techniques over the past eleven years to help de-stress and lighten the intensity of her legal career.  She joined the Foundation Program and later the Teacher Training Program.  Susan is now part of KMC Boston where she teaches Meditation for Children on Sunday mornings.  Susan loves making dharma easily accessible by using stories that touch people’s hearts and inspire them.  Susan also enjoys making dharma fun for children with the help of Kadampa picture books, songs, and plays.

Joe Kovaz was first introduced to the New Kadampa Tradition at Kadampa Meditation Center South Carolina in 2009.After several years of study in General Program classes and formally in Foundation Program and Teacher Training Program classes, Joe began teaching meditation classes at KMC South Carolina several years ago.  Joe especially cherishes the opportunity to teach meditation classes to beginners and seeks ways to make his classes very practical and meaningful for participants.

Joe and his family recently moved to Maine where Joe teaches science and math at a public charter high school.  Joe’s partner, Susan is also an experienced Dharma teacher and she teaches Kid’s Class regularly.

This special event is being offered by livestream for those in the New England region of the US (including MA, VT, NH & ME; outside this area?  Find a Kadampa Center near you). Registrants will receive a link enabling them to watch and listen by phone, tablet or computer.
