Northeast Dharma Celebration 2021: Long Life, Wisdom & Merit

Buddha Amitayus Empowerment & Teachings on the Conditions for Gaining Realizations

The 2021 Northeast Dharma Celebration will be held September 10-12 in-person at the US World Peace Temple at Kadampa Meditation Center New York, and will also be available online. Join in with hundreds of fellow meditators throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States in receiving Amitayus empowerment, listening to teachings on the conditions for gaining realizations and meditating together.

There is a massive difference between an intellectual understanding of the teachings and experiential understanding. Experiential understanding transforms our life, the way we think, and the way we treat people. Experience is crucial and meditation will allow us to gain this experience. It is not enough to just understand Buddhism–we want to truly change. Kadam Morten will give teachings on how to do this in conjunction with explanations of relying on Buddha Amitayus.

Buddhist-TeachingsAmitayus means an immeasurable life span. When we open our heart to Buddha Amitayus’ guidance, he will help us increase our wisdom, our merit (our ability to fulfill our wishes), and, most importantly, he will help us protect our most precious possession — our life. Through his blessings, we increase our energy and lifespan with which to complete the spiritual path.

Empowerments create the opportunity for us to receive extraordinary wisdom blessings to enable us to build our connection to enlightened beings who provide us with tremendous assistance on the spiritual path.

The Northeast Dharma Celebration provides a precious opportunity to study, listen to and practice the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.
