Meditations to Heal – Saturday, March 13 with Gen Khedrub
With everything going in our world we need some healing. To be a positive agent of change we need a state of mind that is more consistently relaxed, courageous and energized. And we can do that. In this half-day retreat you will find practical methods to heal your mind, and our world. You will find new ways to awaken the happiness that lies within all of us. In the second session you will have the opportunity to engage in the powerful visualization and meditation practice of Medicine Buddha and receive some essential commentary to this practice.
Note: In session two of this event we will use Medicine Buddha Prayers. If you are not familiar with these, and would like to follow along, you can purchase a digital booklet here.
Session times:
10:00am – 11:15 am
11:45am – 1:00pm
Gen Kelsang Khedrub, a Western Buddhist monk, has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s guidance for many years. His heartfelt teachings are presented with clarity and humor that make them accessible to everyone. Through his kindness, humility and deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings, Gen Khedrub provides an inspiring example of a contemporary Buddhist practitioner we can follow.
Gen Khedrub joins us after 13 years as Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Washington in Seattle and an additional 10 years as Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago.
“The resident Teachers of our Dharma centers are always with you; they care for you and try to guide you to a meaningful life.”
~ Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
Notes:
In the first session of this events we will be using the Liberating Prayer. If you are not familiar with this, and would like to join in, you can find the text here.
This special event is being offered by livestream for those in the New England region of the US (including MA, VT, NH & ME; outside this area? Find a Kadampa Center near you). Registrants will receive a link enabling them to watch and listen by phone, tablet or computer.
