Journey Into Your Subtle Mind – Saturday, August 20 from 10am to 12:30pm
The oral instructions of Mahamudra are an ancient series of meditations, motivated by compassion for others, that lead us to experience more subtle and peaceful states of mind. Practised by thousands of people over many generations, they guide us on a journey home, into our heart, where we can realize our very subtle mind, called the “clear light of bliss”. Just as the sun easily and effortlessly dispels darkness, the clear light of bliss has enormous power to dissolve away our deluded and negative ways of thinking.
Through the Mahamudra meditations on the central channel, indestructible drop and indestructible wind and mind we can manifest our clear light mind and quickly develop great power to heal ourselves and others in the world.
In person or online. This class will be delivered in-person and online via a Zoom webinar. Kadampa Meditation Center Boston is located at 2298 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge, just a few blocks from the Davis Square T stop. After registering you will receive instructions on how to join in the sessions online.
About the teachers: Clare Morin has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since the early 2000s, when she began to study meditation at the Kadampa Meditation Center Hong Kong. She found tremendous value in learning about meditation and using these practical teachings to solve the problems of daily life. Her studies on this path have continued in-depth, and when she moved to Maine in 2009 with her Mainer husband, she was lucky to be asked to start teaching a weekly branch class in Portland.
About the teachers: Bev Sampson began practicing Kadampa Buddhism in 2008, in New Jersey, at Dharmachakra Buddhist Center. She moved to Maine in 2017 and joined the Boston/Maine community. Her strong wish to practice Buddha’s teachings has developed deep faith in Dharma. She views her retirement as a joyful opportunity to grow her meditation practice and has been in Kadampa study programs since embarking on this spiritual journey. Bev especially enjoys teaching meditation to beginners.
