How to Transform Your Mind – Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:00pm with Clare Morin

Day Retreat with Gen Khedrub! On Saturday, November 11 Gen Khedrub will be up in Maine leading a day meditation retreat near Brunswick on Creating a Balanced Life. Everyone is welcome.

New: In addition to this meditation class in Portland, we are now offering a monthly meditation class in Brunswick and monthly puja (chanted prayers) – look at the monthly calendar for pujas in Portland.

Our mind has limitless potential. But we can easily find ourself stuck in repetitive ways of thinking and behaving. Buddha taught many gentle methods to help us transform our mind and to break free from old habits. Buddha also taught ways to stabilize more realistic, constructive and positive views, intentions and actions. It all starts with understanding and transforming our own mind. And we can do it!

This Tuesday evening meditation class will take a practical look at Buddha’s wisdom teachings and how it can be applied to our modern life Each week will include:

  • guided breathing meditation
  • a short teaching on how to access more inner calm and kindness
  • a concluding contemplative time
  • Q&A time

About the teacher:

Clare Morin has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since the early 2000s, when she  began to study meditation at the Kadampa Meditation Center Hong Kong. She found tremendous value in learning about meditation and using these practical teachings to solve the problems of daily life. Her studies on this path have continued in-depth, and when she moved to Maine in 2009 with her Mainer husband, she was lucky to be asked to start teaching a weekly branch class in Portland.
