Cultivating Inner Peace: Sundays from 11:00am to 12:15pm with Nini Rodriguez

The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we shall be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we shall experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we shall find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we shall experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually we shall be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

During July and August we will explore Buddha's inspiring teachings on how to overcome the six root delusions, or mental poisons. With more peace in your mind, you can bring more peace and happiness into your world.

Nini Rodriguez is a sincere practitioner who first encountered Buddha's teachings at our World Peace Temple in Glen Spey, NY many years ago. She has been teaching for Kadampa Meditation Center Boston for several years.

Nini’s teachings are known to be joyful and accessible. She focuses mainly on how to apply Buddha’s practical wisdom in our daily activities so spiritual practice and daily life can be fully integrated.

Nini is native of Margarita Island, Venezuela and has a background of business, accounting and finance. She is particularly keen on helping to integrate meditation in people's busy lives, while dealing with work, school and family stress. She is a big believer that we can integrate meditation in any situation in our life and likes to show by example how to do that.
