Becoming A Friend Of The World: Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:30 p.m. in Portland with Clare Morin
Buddha’s example of peace and compassion has made a lasting impression in the world and inspired many people to enter a spiritual path. By following in his footsteps, we too can discover a life of great meaning and benefit others through training in six essential practices that form the Buddhist path to enlightenment. These six practices are known as the six perfections and include the practices of giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, concentration and wisdom, motivated by the supreme good heart known as bodhichitta.
During this summer season meditation class, we will explore Buddha’s teachings on how we can transform all our daily activities into the Bodhisattva’s path to enlightenment.
Location: Portland New Church at 302 Stevens Avenue.
This class will be delivered in-person and online via a Zoom webinar. After registering you will receive instructions on how to watch the sessions. You can register for the series, or simply drop in to any class you wish.
Everyone is welcome! $12 per class / $48 for five-week summer series / free for members*

About the teacher: Clare Morin has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since the early 2000s, when she began to study meditation at the Kadampa Meditation Center Hong Kong. She found tremendous value in learning about meditation and using these practical teachings to solve the problems of daily life. Her studies on this path have continued in-depth, and when she moved to Maine in 2009 with her Mainer husband, she was lucky to be asked to start teaching a weekly branch class in Portland.
